Your assignment today is to type a final draft of the review of your book (5 points) or record a video review of your book (7 points) and upload the review(s) to the WAHS Library site. If you or do both you will earn 15 points.
Once you look at your book review you wrote last Friday, you will enter the highlights of it onto the library site.
(If you are in the library you can select the blue diamond in the bottom of the tray, then select the blue diamond again.)
2. Log into your Destiny account (the link is in the middle of the top of the screen.) The login is your first initial, then your last name. We will tell you your password. 3. Search for your book. 4. When you've found your book and have clicked on it to select it, click on the review tab. Enter your review.
Next you are going to record a video review and upload it to the site.

1. Record the video:
Click on the iMovie logo (the star) on the bottom of the computer screen. (If you are on a laptop, you need to go to the magnifiying class in the upper right hand corner of the screen and type in imovie, then select the application.)

Click Capture.
Type your name and the title of the book that you are reviewing.
Have a classmate hold up your paper in such a way so that you can look into the camera when recording it.
Practice reading it at least once.
When you're ready to begin recording, click Capture (bottom right of the recording window.)
When you want to stop recording, click stop.
A new video clip is created, and the thumbnail images are generated. You can start and stop as often as you like. Each time you start and stop the camera, you must click OK to add hte next clip to the same Event, or select a different Event or type the name for a new Event.
9. When finished recording, click done.
2. After you've recording (imported) video into iMovie and created at least one "Event," you can choose parts of that Event to move into an imovie project. Simply drag and drop the video onto the project screen. (You can always go to File/New Project to find a new project.)
3. Rename your project with your first initial and last name followed by the name of the book you are reviewing.
For example: J Redmond Hunger Games review
4. Sign into your system account, and save your iMovie project to your system file before uploading it to the WAHS library site. How I accomplished this was by clicking on
a. export file
b. saving it to the smallest size possible
c. saving it to the desktop
d. dragging and dropping it to the system file, twice.
Save your project on the desktop so it's easier to load to the library site. Just make sure you sign out of the computer before you leave.
Submitting your video review (or an alternate way to enter a typed review)
Exit Destiny
Go to the library catalog.
Search for (Library Search on the right hand side of your screen) and select your book.
Click on reviews (tab in the upper right hand side of the screen)
Click on add review.
Upload your video (or text)
Save your file.
When you're finished you should:
1. Search for and make a list of 10 books you want to read this summer. Print it and turn it in.
2. Then you may link to recommended sites from the wiki or sites about authors. May we suggest you search for more information about the author you just finished reading? Absolutely NO GAME or MUSIC sites. *
